Fall is in the air!

Cooler Nights, Change of Colors. Comfort Food! Yeah, I can bake things in the oven without sending everyone outside, to escape the heat!

This was an unusual Summer. While our garden did fairly well, with some assitance from the garden hose. The garden has seen its best of days, All that is left, is some cold tolerant veggies.

Now it is time to bring the rest in. All the winter squashes and of course the pumpkins! This big guy will grace our front stairs. Well maybe we will have to move him somewhere else. The brushes and trees across the front yard, prevent anyone from seeing the porch, these days :)  When you begin your search for a pumpkin, stop by to see what My Hubby has grown!

Perspectives

While I hope that everyone had a great summer. I am getting ready for fall. I was inspired to spend some time stamping and creating for my self.

I have been very interested in the art of Wendi Vecchini. I have wanted to create a wall hanging,an  inspiration picture to remind me of the important things.

Here is my creation. Enjoy! Create fun things

Creative Pursuits

Back to school. Back to Routine, hahahah. I make myself laugh soo hard.

I don't think as a mother, of teenagers, that I should not be able to anticipate their help in the general everyday tasks of home.
So to remind them of what I anticipate. Without me raising my voice I created this wall hanging.

I have not decided where exactly to hang it. First though would be on the refrigerator I think they would see it there. But, I may be wrong.
This was an inexpensive picture frame. Matting was removed. The Background is Comfort Cafe Designers Series Paper.
Other Items Used:
Pursuit of Happiness, Countryside Stamp stamp sets, Apothecary Accents framelits, vintage brads, crystal effects, micro beads (retired) Typeset Alphabet Bigz dies, Sizzix big shot.

Labor Day at Dusk
While more is to be done. Replacement of the windows.  Seal and Protect the wood. As I manage, yet another  spray on tan courtesy of Thompson's Waterseal Honey tint.

The end of summer could not have been celebrated better that to see our Barn, sturdy, and fresh. Ready to face the coming seasons without fear.

Labor Day

Labors of Love, Respect & Preservation of Memories, Saving for the future. I could be talking about scrapbooking.

While  these are the thoughts, and feelings we use to  reflect on why we create  scrapbook pages.

It can also be applied  to things that we are surrounded by everyday
While this fine structure has stood the test of time. It was in need of Respect & Preservation.

This Labor of Love started last summer with the removal of 3 layers of roofing. Which included wooden shingles, and square nails.
The Old roof was replaced by this shinny green tin roof. One part of the preservation completed. With the addition of a second floor, for all the hay. It helped free up space to prepare for all the incoming wood purchased this summer.

This is what our barn looked like on August 18th. I was instructed to take many pictures. When the exterior walls are completed, the decorative pieces of this farms past could be restored to there rightful places.

More Labor of Love Pictures Tomorrow..The Walls Completed.
